Terms & Conditions
These Terms & Conditions explain how Fluent Rise LLC provides its online French lessons and how you may use the service. Please read them carefully before booking lessons.
Last updated: 03/12/2025
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) apply to all online French lessons and related services provided by Fluent Rise LLC (“Fluent Rise”, “we”, “us”, “our”) to individual students (“you”, “your”). By booking, paying for or attending any lesson, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Company details
Fluent Rise is operated by Fluent Rise LLC, a business providing remote one-to-one French language lessons delivered online.
You can contact us at:
- Email: hello@fluentrise.me
- Business phone: +19145407262
2. Services
Fluent Rise provides live, online French lessons for individual learners. Lessons are delivered via video conferencing tools such as Zoom or Google Meet, or any other platform agreed with you.
Unless stated otherwise in writing:
- Lessons are individual (1 student and 1 tutor).
- Each standard lesson lasts approximately 45 minutes.
- Lessons are focused on communication, grammar, listening and other skills relevant to your goals.
3. Eligibility
By using our services, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years old; or
- You are under 18 but have permission from a parent or legal guardian who has read and accepted these Terms on your behalf.
- You have the technical means to attend lessons (internet connection, device with microphone and, preferably, webcam).
4. Bookings and scheduling
Lesson bookings are agreed directly between you and Fluent Rise, typically by email, messaging or using an online booking tool. When you confirm a time and plan and complete payment, your booking is considered accepted.
We will make reasonable efforts to offer times that suit your time zone and schedule. However, lesson slots are subject to availability and may change, for example due to holidays or unforeseen events.
5. Plans, fees and payments
Fluent Rise currently offers monthly lesson plans such as “Starter”, “Progress” and “Intensive” (or similar names) shown on the main website, with prices expressed in euros (€).
Unless clearly stated otherwise:
- Plan prices are per month and per student.
- Payment is due in advance, before lessons are delivered.
- Payments are processed securely by third-party providers such as Stripe and PayPal. Fluent Rise does not store your full payment card details.
All fees and currency information are shown at checkout. You are responsible for any charges your bank or payment provider may apply (for example, currency conversion fees).
6. Cancellations and rescheduling
We understand that plans can change. To keep things fair, the following rules normally apply to cancellations and rescheduling:
- If you wish to cancel or reschedule a lesson, you should notify Fluent Rise at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time.
- Lessons cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice will not be counted as used, and we will try to agree a new time with you.
- Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or if you do not attend the lesson (“no-show”), may be counted as used and not refunded.
Specific arrangements or exceptions may be agreed in writing in some cases (for example, serious illness or technical problems). Any such exceptions are at the reasonable discretion of Fluent Rise.
7. Refunds
We aim for you to be satisfied with your learning experience. However, because lesson time is reserved for you, our refund policy is limited.
In general:
- Once a monthly plan has started and lessons have been scheduled, fees are normally non-refundable.
- If you are not satisfied after your first paid lesson, you should contact us promptly to discuss the situation. We may, at our reasonable discretion, offer a partial or full refund or propose another solution (for example, an extra lesson).
- If we are unable to deliver lessons that you have paid for (for example, due to tutor illness or long-term unavailability), we will offer alternative dates or a refund for undelivered lessons.
Any refunds agreed by Fluent Rise will normally be processed through the same payment method you used originally, unless otherwise agreed.
8. Student responsibilities
To get the most from your lessons and keep them running smoothly, you agree to:
- Provide accurate contact and payment information.
- Arrive on time for lessons and be prepared (for example, with any documents or homework requested).
- Use respectful language and behaviour at all times during lessons and any written communication.
- Not record, share or distribute lesson recordings, materials or screenshots without our written permission.
- Not share your personal meeting links or lesson access with other people unless explicitly agreed.
9. Online tools and technical issues
Lessons are delivered using third-party platforms such as Zoom or Google Meet. While we do our best to provide a stable connection, we cannot fully control those services or your own internet connection and equipment.
If a lesson is significantly disrupted by technical problems on our side (tutor connection issues or platform failure), we will offer to reschedule or extend the lesson at no additional cost.
If technical problems are primarily on your side (for example, weak connection or device issues), we will discuss a fair solution with you, but the lesson may still be counted as used depending on the circumstances.
10. Intellectual property
All lesson materials created by Fluent Rise, including worksheets, slides, recordings, PDFs, emails, exercises and website content, are protected by intellectual property laws and remain the property of Fluent Rise or its licensors.
You receive a personal, non-transferable licence to use these materials solely for your own learning. You agree not to:
- Copy or distribute materials for commercial purposes.
- Publish lesson content publicly (online or offline) without permission.
- Sell or resell any part of the service or materials.
11. Privacy and data protection
Fluent Rise collects and processes personal information (such as your name, email, level of French and payment confirmation) in order to deliver lessons and manage your account.
We respect your privacy and aim to keep your data secure. More details about how we collect, use and store your data are provided in our Privacy Policy.
12. Limitation of liability
Fluent Rise will provide lessons with reasonable care and skill. However, we cannot guarantee specific results such as exam passes, immigration approvals or job offers, as these depend on many factors beyond our control.
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Fluent Rise is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the service (for example, loss of opportunity, loss of data or travel costs).
- Our total liability in connection with any service provided to you is limited to the total amount you have paid for the lessons during the three (3) months immediately before the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so (for example, in cases of fraud or certain consumer rights).
13. Changes to services or terms
We may update our lesson plans, prices or these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in law or in how we operate the service.
Any new Terms will apply to new bookings and future months. If we make significant changes that affect you during an ongoing plan, we will notify you in advance using the contact details you have provided (for example, by email).
14. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time by informing us that you do not wish to renew your plan for the next month.
We may suspend or end our lessons with you if:
- You repeatedly miss lessons without notice.
- You behave in a disrespectful or abusive way.
- You breach these Terms in a serious or repeated manner.
In such cases, any decision about refunds for unused lessons will be made at the reasonable discretion of Fluent Rise.
15. Governing law
These Terms are intended to operate in line with the laws applicable to Fluent Rise LLC. If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to apply.
In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us first so that we can try to resolve the matter amicably.
